AAP demands Mayor’s ouster, ACB probe

Amid ruckus in the North Corporation over alleged scams, the AAP on Tuesday demanded the ouster of the Mayor within 48 hours failing which they will ask the Delhi government to order an ACB inquiry into the case.

Senior AAP leader Dilip Pandey said that the people of Delhi are witnessing a Municipal breakdown in the rule of BJP in the MCDs. The last crisis of employee strike was amicably sorted out with the intervention of the Delhi government and LG Office. The root cause of MCD malfunctioning and laxity of the civic bodies towards the welfare of people is out with recent allegations of corruption against the BJP-ruled North Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Ravinder Gupta who is being linked to a case of bribery. The allegations of demand for bribe from builder Mukesh Gupta is now out in the open and is staring at the eye of the BJP leadership.

“Even after the release of funds to MCD by the Delhi government and LG, the due payments of the MCD employees have not been given. The reason is simple. The BJP-led MCD leaderships are busy siphoning off the money for their own needs. Allegations of corruption against the North Delhi Mayor are just a tip of the iceberg and many rotten scams are buried inside the files of MCDs. 

“It has also come to the notice through media that the bribe which Ravinder Gupta demanded from the builder was allegedly in the name of big leaders of BJP. The matter needs to be investigated to its core,” said Pandey.

The party demands that within 48 hours the matter needs to be sent for an inquiry and the guilty should be punished. The racket of corruption in MCDs needs to be exposed. AAP would demand the Delhi government to order an ACB inquiry into the scam.
