AAP condemns Shiv Sena’s remarks on Muslim community

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday condemned Shiv Sena for an article published in Samna, in which its editor and Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has made illegal and objectionable suggestions of withdrawing voting rights from the Muslim community.

The article is clearly aimed at seeking cheap publicity and spreading hatred between communities. AAP demanded immediate arrest of Sanjay Raut after registration of a criminal case against him and the Shiv Sena. The party also demanded that Samna’s publication be suspended and the publishers be prosecuted.

“While Shiv Sena’s communal politics have been rejected by the people of Maharshtra and the party is struggling for survival after a humiliating arrangement with the BJP in the state, it has been forced to further BJP’s agenda for creating communal disharmony like other allies, associates and frontals of the party like the VHP, RSS and Bajrang Dal. The Aam Aadmi Party sees this article as part of a bigger conspiracy to push the nation into communal riots. Ever since Narendra Modi has taken over as the Prime Minister, outfits like the VHP, RSS, Bajrang Dal, etc, have been spreading hatred through sustained communal campaigns like ‘Ghar Wapsi’ and ‘Love Jehad’.
