AAP appoints 21 Parliamentary Secys

Breaking all conventions, the AAP-led government has appointed 21 Parliamentary Secretaries for the government’s smooth functioning.  The oath of office was administered by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Secretariat.

The 21 Parliamentary Secretaries include, Praveen Kumar as Parliamentary Secretary to the minister of Education, Sharad Kumar to the minister of Revenue, Adarsh Shastri to the minister of Information & Technology, Madan Lal to the minister of Vigilance, Shri Shiv Charan Goel to the minister of Finance, Sanjeev Jha to the minister of Transport, Sarita Singh to the minister of Employment, Naresh Yadav to the minister of Labour, Jarnail Singh(Tilaknagar) to the minister of Development, Rajesh Gupta to the minister of Health, Rajesh Rishi to the minister of Health, Anil Kumar Bajpai to the minister of Health, Som Dutt to the minister of Industries, Avtar Singh Kalka to the minister of Gurudwara elections, Vijender Garg Vijay to the minister of PWD, Jarnail Singh(Rajouri Garden) to the minister of Power, Kailash Gahlot to the minister of Law, Alka Lamba to the minister of Tourism, Manoj Kumar to the minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Nitin Tyagi to the minister of Women and Child and Social Welfare and Sukhvir Singh to the minister of Languages & Welfare of SC/ST/OBC.

Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel had already announced that from May 1, all Parliamentary Secretaries will have an office each within Assembly premises, so that they could meet people and hear their problems. However, the AAP government said that they have not received any remuneration or perks of any kind from the government, implying that there would be no burden on exchequer.

Previously, the Sheila Dikshit-led government had appointed three Parliamentary Secretaries for the Chief Minister, not for all ministers.
