AAP admits sting ‘scandal’ could harm party image

At a time when the campaigning process for the Delhi assembly election is coming to a close, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accepted that the sting operation carried out by Media Sarkar allegedly showing some AAP workers accepting funds for party without proper documentation has dented the party’s image.

AAP, however, claimed that though they managed to control the damage that could have been caused, BJP has managed to get an edge over the issue.

Meanwhile, the party relased the remaining manifestos for 41 constituencies along with the latest survey conducted by the party which shows that AAP is going to get a full majority in 4 December.

‘The CD row had done some damage to our image, but despite these allegations our candidates came clear of these charges. We were in some doubt after the CD scandal but despite all these factors, people still have faith in us. BJP is the only party who is getting a bit of an advantage from this episode, said Yogendra Yadav, AAP leader.

When asked about senior BJP leader LK Advani’s comment in which he said that there was no scope for the Aam Aadmi Party, Yadav said, ‘A senior leader like Advaniji can express his views  as he has a huge experience in politics. We all are free to express our views. The AAP has made Delhi assembly elections a three-way affair for the first time. Till now, the electoral battle here was always fought between the Congress and the BJP,’ he added.
