Ibadat-e-Aman was a collaborative performance, with Shafqat Ali Khan on sitar and Sandeep Silas with his shayari. The auditorium at Indian Habitat Centre was treated to a gala while both performed, enchanting the auidence with soulful lyrics and music. A rendition of Sufiyana kalaam by Pakistani sitar player Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan along with Sandeep Silas held the audience in thrall.
Each sher conveyed the feeling of nostalgia for shared times and pains that the countries suffered during and after Partition.
During the event, a book named Ranai-e-khayal as well as Ibadat-E-Aman, a music album, was released. Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan is a well known vocalist of classical Sufi music in India and Pakistan. He belongs to the shaam chaurasi gharana of East Punjab.
Sandeep Silas, poet from Agra, has written title songs for various TV serials and also for a short feature film. He has several books on tourism to his credit and more than 325 published articles.
