A nine-year-old child was found dead in Dwarka area on Tuesday evening. The deceased was missing since Saturday and his parents had lodged a complaint of kidnapping in Bindapur police station.
According to police, Khalid, a resident of Punarwas colony in Bindapur area was found dead near roadside bushes in Dwarka Sector 13 on Tuesday evening. Several injury marks were found on his body, which seemed to be two-days old.
‘We have registered a case of murder and the body has been sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) hospital for post-mortem’ said a senior police officer.
Khalid was missing since Saturday evening after he left the house. His father, Noor Alam, who is a contractor, stated that he lodged the missing complaint at Bindapur police station.
A day after, police registered the case of kidnapping but failed to trace him.
Police also found a stone near the body, which might have been used to kill the boy.
‘Several injury marks on the face and body were made with a blunt object,’ said A K Ojha, additional commissioner of police.
The call was received by the police around 3:30 pm. Police called Alam, who claimed the body of his son in front of the police, said the officer. Â
No ransom call was made in the case. Police however, has initiated the probe from all possible angles.
Many people residing in the area from where the body was found are being questioned, said the officer.
Khalid, student of Class III, was playing near his house when he went missing on Saturday evening.
