9 officials suspended for dereliction of duty in UP

After a surprise inspection in Banda Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav nine officials, including divisional forest officer (DFO) for dereliction of duty on Tuesday. Official sources said that the Banda DFO was found absent during CM’s inspection in Fatehpur and Banda. The suspended officials include three from PWD, two from department of irrigation and one each from department of backward welfare, department of power and tubewell. The chief minister also asked principal secretary (PWD) and chief engineer as why the roads in Banda were in such a bad  state. ‘The lax officials will have to face the consequences and action would be taken against them,’ he said in a statement issued here.
