84-Kosi parikrama will continue, says Togadia

While announcing the continuation of 84-Kosi parikrama encircling Ayodhya, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary Praveen Togadia said that they will not allow the construction of Islamic Centre within the parikrama area.

The leader condemned the Akhilesh Yadav government for ‘torturing the saints’ and alleged that they were not given food or medicines during the detention.

Speaking to the mediapersons in Etah after his release, along with Ram Vilas Vedanti and former BJP MLA from Ayodhya Lalu Singh, Togadia said VHP would not allow the move of Mulayam Singh Yadav to construct an Islamic Centre within the 84-Kosi parikrama area.

Claiming that parikrama has nothing to do with politics, he said it was an insult to the Hindus for terming their rituals as political issue.

He also appealed to all political parties to pass a bill for early construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The VHP leader has announced that all the saints arrested by the UP government would again go to Ayodhya to join the parikrama, which started on 25 August and continue till 13 September.

He alleged that UP minister Mohammad Azam Khan was behind the ban on  VHP parikrama’.

‘It is the minister who is running the government not Akhilesh Yadav,’ he added.

‘I will go to the high court against the atrocities of the state government as they made us travel all through the state yesterday without food and medicines even when the court had ordered our release,’ he said.
