8-yr-old raped by uncle in east Delhi

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 21-year-old maternal uncle at her house on Monday afternoon, police has said. The accused has been arrested.

The incident happened in the Seemapuri area of east Delhi. 'The victim was at home, with her 10-year-old brother, when the incident took place. Their parents had gone out for a work. 

Finding the children alone at home, Alam, their maternal uncle, who lives in the neighbourhood, forced his way in to the house.

He threatened the siblings and raped the girl,' said a police officer.

Police said, the victim's brother later told a neighbour about the incident.

The accused, an unemployed man, was arrested from his house on Monday evening, the officer added.
