75-yr-old dairy owner found dead

On early Tuesday morning, a 75-year-old, who ran a dairy shop in north-east Delhi’s Mansarovar Park area, was found murdered with his throat slit with a sharp-edged weapon. The family claimed personal enmity with four neighbours as the reason behind the murder but cops are yet to establish the motive. So far, no arrests have been made in this regard.

At around 5.45 am, when the daughter-in-law of Kashiram Panchal, the deceased, went to the ground floor of their house at Shanti Building in Mansarovar Park to offer morning tea to him, found him murdered. His body was lying on the bed in a pool of blood.

The police team reached the spot after the deceased’s  family members made a call to the police control room. Kashiram was living with his three sons identified as Pramod, Ashok and Joginder. All the three sons are married. Kashiram owns a dairy located at Mandawli road and was run by the three sons.

On Tuesday morning, at around 4 am, Joginder went to his father’s room to wake him up but he found him unwell. Joginder then, went to open the dairy and informed his brothers to take care of Kashiram.

At around 5.45 am, wife of Ashok went to the room and found him dead.

The family members told police that on Sunday Ashok had a heated argument with four youths residing in the colony. He had also filed a complaint against the four accused who had beaten him up. Ashok is accusing them of murdering his father as recently they have threatened him of dire consequences.

‘We are investigating the matter in all plausible angles and have detained all four men who are being intensively quizzed,’ an investigating official said.

During investigation, it also came to light that Rs 6,000 was also missing from the room where Kashiram was found dead.

‘Robbery by unidentified accused could be another reason behind the murder,’ he added.

Meanwhile, a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Mansarovar Park police station. The body was taken to Lal Bahadur Shashtri hospital for post-mortem examination.
