70-yr-old man robbed off jewellery, cash

Two unidentified men robbed a 70-year-old man of jewellery and Rs 5 lakh in cash during the wee hours of Sunday in South Delhi. The robbers also tried to smother him with a pillow, but he had a narrow escape. The victim has been identified as Karn Singh, who has many properties in South Delhi’s Deoli area. Currently, he was staying alone in Neb Sarai’s Sainik Farm area. His sons are property dealers who stay in Deoli. The incident took place around 10.30 pm when the victim was in his bedroom. Suddenly, he realised two people talking to each other inside the house. He rushed out of his room and found two unknown persons roaming around in the living room. “The robbers had possibly climbed over the wall and must have entered the house by tearing through the mesh in the door and then unbolting the door through the opening,” a cop close to investigation said.
