7-year-old girl molested by neighbour in N Delhi

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her neighbour at a locality near the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital in north Delhi, on Sunday.
According to police, the accused, identified as a 55-year-old man named Wassi, lived in the same lane as the girl. On Saturday evening, he found the her playing outside her house. He allegedly lured her with some sweets and took her to his rented room. He allegedly molested the girl and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone.
The girl was left traumatised after the incident. She narrated her ordeal to her father after repeated questioning. The father immediately called the police control room at around 11 pm and reported the matter. ‘Wassi was arrested from his room in the night itself and booked for sexual assault’, said Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).
