65-year-old shot dead in SW Delhi

A 65-year-old man was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in South-west Delhi’s Najafgarh, police said on Wednesday. The duo bike-borne assailants are yet to be arrested.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening at around 8 pm when the victim, identified as Rohtash, was returning home. Two persons whose identities are yet to be established by the police approached him on a bike and shot him dead. The accused persons managed to flee immediately after shooting him twice.

According to sources, police have said that the deceased is the father of one of the accused in a case in which four charred bodies were found in a burnt car in Haryana. Rohtash was a resident of Mitrau area in South-west Delhi’s Najafgarh. According to the cops, he was shot dead barely few metres away from his residence. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. “Rohtash received two bullet injuries — one on his head, another on his chest.

She further added that a team has been constituted to establish the identities of the accused duo.
“We have seized the victim’s mobile phone and the call details are being probed. Also, with the help of network tracking via mobile towers, the usage of the numbers near the crime spot are been scanned,” she added.
