64-year-old man arrested for luring, raping 12-year-old girl in Najafgarh

According to the police, the accused identified as Bhagwan Das was the victim’s neighbour. He was arrested three days after the incident.

The incident took place on June 8 when the minor girl’s parents were away at work, said police. Das, unemployed, lived near the child’s house. He allegedly went to the girl’s house when her parents were not present at home.

According to the police, the accused, Bhagwan Das allegedly went to the minor girl’s house when her parents were away. He lured on the pretext of chocolate and also offered money. He then took her to his house, raped her and fled from the spot.

The minor girl narrated the entire incident to her mother when she started complaining of pain in her private parts.

Based on the minor girl’s statements to the police, a case was registered at the Najafgarh police station.
