60 women avail training in ‘Rakshita’ initiative

In the ongoing Road Safety Awareness Campaign on Saturday training for commercial vehicle driving license was organised in the office of District Magistrate (East) in collaboration with institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR).

About sixty women participants availed the training for the ‘Rakshita’ initiative.  District Magistrate (East) welcomed the participants and said that the training was to provide a platform to women for making them independent and self reliant. He stated that self defense training would be imparted to these women.

He also informed that NGO’s will be roped in to educate the women so that they could communicate in English.  He stated that possibilities would be explored for financial assistance so that they could purchase vehicles.

The DM (East) requested the participants to spread awareness about the initiate among more women so that they could also benefit from this.  Further he said such initiatives would provide safety to women commuters in Delhi and boost the morale.
