56 per cent vote in JNUSU polls

In comparison with last year, the Jawaharlal Nehru Univesity Students’ Union elections saw a fall of two per cent in polling.

Around 56 per cent students cast their votes to elect the new set of office bearers. The result is likely to be declared either on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Chief election officer of JNUSU Gyan Parkash saidthat apart from a few stray incidents of violence, the polling went off peacefully largely. 

The Left-affiliated All India Students’ Association had bagged all the presidential post in the last year’s elections.
