53-year-old kills wife by shooting her nine times

According to a source, the accused had an alleged extra-marital affair and he wanted his wife to accept that. Her objection to his illicit relationship led to frequent disputes between them.
The victim was identified as Alka Khullar (50), wife of Deepak Khullar (53), a resident of Palam Vihar in Gurgaon, who runs a furniture business. On Wednesday morning, Deepak allegedly shot his wife nine times, then called up his daughter and confessed to the crime. His daughter, Abha Sethi, who lives with her husband at west Delhi’s Janakpuri area, immediately called up her maternal uncle, Amit, and asked him to reach her parents’ residence, said the police official investigating the case.
He further added that Amit rushed to the Khullar’s residence and found his sister Alka lying in a pool of blood. He rushed her to a hospital, where she was declared ‘brought dead’.
‘It was the hospital authorities who reported the incident to the police around 11 am. Soon after, Abha reported about her last conversation with her father to the police,’ the official added.
Deepak Khullar is still at large but police claim that he will be nabbed very soon. He has been booked under Section 302 (murder) of IPC, said another police official.
Alka’s body was immediately sent for a post-mortem examination. From preliminary investigation it seems that she was hit by nine bullets and the incident took place around 9 am, minutes before the accused called up his daughter, the official added.
