45-year-old cop shoots self in Greater Noida

A 45-year-old Delhi Police Sub-inspector posted with ATS allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Greater Noida on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. According to his family, he was under depression due to work pressure.
The deceased has been identified as Yash Pal Singh. He was posted at Kalkaji and lived in Harpal Enclave under Badal Pur police station in Greater Noida.
According to police, Singh went to his room at 11 pm on Friday after having dinner. At 1 am, a gun shot was heard from his room. Family members rushed to the room and found Singh lying in a pool of blood. He had shot himself with his service revolver in the head. He was immediately taken to Yashoda Hospital in Ghaziabad but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Singh is survived by his wife and three children.
“Family members of the deceased informed that he was in depression due to work pressure. He had discussed the issue with his wife. The body has been sent for post-mortem. No suicide note was recovered from the spot,” said Manoj Kumar Yadav, inspector at Badal Pur police station.
Along with his family members, his colleagues and friends are also being questioned, the officer added.
On November 16, 2015, Amit Singh, ACP of Delhi Police posted with the elite Special Cell allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol at his flat in Sector 100 in Noida. He was a native of Bihar. His wife also attempted suicide by jumping off from their flat situated on fourth floor of the building after his death.
