45 new cases of swine flu

Swine flu (H1N1) continues to spread in capital, with 45 new cases reported on Sunday, taking the number to 759 cases and toll to 11 deaths in the city. An official from the Health department said, ‘Among 45 cases, 16 were detected in hospitals and 29 cases were self detected. At Sir Ganga Ram hospital, 4 cases were found positive, at Safdarjung hospital 2 cases were reported and 4 cases were reported at Madan Mohan Malviya hospital.’
He said, ‘No more deaths have been reported due to H1N1 virus. The government is doing its best in providing treatment to people.’ Delhi government has designated 22 hospitals, including five private ones, for Swine Flu treatment. These hospitals have been directed to have isolation wards for critical patients. Doctors from the city hospital said, ‘Swine Flu is treatable with Tamiflu tablets. Preventable vaccines are also available in the market.’
