41-yr-old constable kills self by hanging from fan

A 41-year-old Delhi Police constable allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at his office in Outer Delhi’s Prashant Vihar area on Monday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vinod.
Posted at the disaster management department of the police force in Outer district’s Prashant Vihar, investigators said that Vinod was troubled because of some family problem. Cops said that they have not recovered any suicide note from his possession.
Investigators said that Vinod left his house on Monday morning at around 7.30 am in his uniform for his office.
Police said that after the constable reached his office, he tied a rope around the ceiling fan and hanged himself. After a while, when Vinod’s friend reached office for some work, he found him hanging from the fan. He immediately made a PCR call and some
policemen reached the spot and rushed Vinod to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
According to the police, Vinod’s family was immediately informed and his body was sent for post-mortem. An inquest proceeding under Section 174 of the CrPC has been initiated.
Investigating officials said that they have not yet ascertained the reason as to why Vinod took such an extreme step but he was suffering due to some family problem and was lately depressed due to it. Police said that they are investigating the matter from all angles and are also questioning his relatives, family and people living in his locality to get a clear picture.
