40-yr-old biker crushed to death in Kalkaji

A 40-year-old biker was crushed to death by a mini truck in South-East Delhi’s Kalkaji area on Monday. The accused fled the crime scene leaving behind his vehicle.
The incident took place at around 3.30 pm when the victim, identified as Arif, a resident of Muzzafar Nagar was going towards Badarpur on his Bullet. At a time when he reached Modi Mill flyover, a speeding mini truck hit him from behind and he lost control on his bike. Arif, who has a business of fruits in Okhla Mandi in South-East Delhi, fell on the road and was crushed to death. Soon after Arif was dead, the errant driver of the Eicher truck fled the spot, leaving behind his truck.
Eye-witnesses made a call to the Police Control Room and a team from Kalkaji police station and New Friends Colony reached the spot. According to the police, cops from both the police stations paid a visit so that there was no confusion of jurisdiction and speedy investigation could be pursued. When the team reached the spot, he was already dead. He was taken to the hospital for post-mortem. With the help of his documents, his identity was established and his family members were informed about the accident. A case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at New Friends Colony police station.
