$395 missing from check-in baggage, passenger harassed by IndiGo staff

The victim in her complainant alleged that on 9 April when she was returning from Bangkok to Ahmadabad and was supposed to take a transit flight from Delhi airport’s terminal-1D, she noticed that her pouch carrying 395 dollars was missing. When she approached IndiGo’s terminal manager and told him about the incident, the manager behaved rudely with her and said he can not help her, the victim wrote in her complaint.
Later, when she approached other IndiGo officials she received the same treatment from them and she broke down at the airport. Finally, she called the police.

According to sources at the airport, the victim was shocked after receiving such insensitive treatment from IndiGo officials.  She was crying outside the terminal building when a CISF official approached her. After his intervention, IndiGo was forced to re-issue her the boarding pass, which was cancelled by them after she called the police, sources added.

‘I have filed a complaint after being harassed by IndiGo airlines. How can airline employees behave in such indecent manner with their passengers,’ said Puja over the phone from Ahmedabad to Millennium Post.

According to a police official, IndiGo officials behaved rudely with her in front of the police also. The victim was crying but IndiGo official kept on arguing with her, he said.

Meanwhile, the airline said that they will corporate with the investigation agency. ‘The matter is being investigated by local police and IndiGo has and will continue to extend all co-operation in the matter to the police,’ said IndiGo spokesperson.
