35-yr-old shot dead by unidentified bikers

A 35-year-old man was brutally killed by two unidentified armed bike-borne assailants in South-East Delhi’s <g data-gr-id="45">Jaitpur</g> area on Tuesday evening. The victim died on the spot and the police are yet to arrest the accused persons.

The incident took place at around 6.15 pm when the victim, identified as Roshan, was returning home. 

He is a resident of Faridabad and in the <g data-gr-id="37">mid-way,</g> when he reached <g data-gr-id="41">Jaitpur</g> area, two unidentified men who were riding two separate motorcycles stopped him and shot at him.  

According to police, after receiving <g data-gr-id="48">gun shot</g> injuries Roshan fell unconscious on the ground. Then, one of the accused got down off his bike and slit his throat to ensure that he was dead. Both the accused managed to flee the spot and are yet to be identified by the police.  

A passer-by made a call to the Police Control Room and a team immediately rushed to the spot. The victim was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival. His body was taken to AIIMS for the post-mortem. 

During <g data-gr-id="38">investigation</g>, his identity was learnt through a document he was carrying with him. Accordingly, his family members were informed who reached AIIMS mortuary.  

“Roshan received bullet injuries in his abdomen and chest. Also, a deep wound was noticed on his throat,” the officer added. 

The police team that reached the crime scene recovered few empty bullet shells that have been sent for forensic examination.  

According to sources, the victim is the president of <g data-gr-id="46">Gareeb</g> Aadmi Party of ward No. 202 of Badarpur, but the police officials are yet to confirm it. The source further added that he had been appointed <g data-gr-id="44">president</g> of Ward no. 202, Badarpur, one week back and his posters were being fixed in the area. 
During <g data-gr-id="35"><g data-gr-id="34">preliminarily</g></g> investigation, it seems to be a case of personal enmity. 

“We are checking the contact details of his mobile phone and are also looking at the CCTV footages from the cameras installed in the nearby areas,” another official privy to <g data-gr-id="40">investigation</g> said.
