35-yr-old man succumbs after auto turns turtle

A 35-year-old man was killed when an auto-rickshaw overturned in East Delhi’s Ghazipur area on late Sunday night. At the time of the <g data-gr-id="32">incident</g> the victim was travelling in the auto-rickshaw. Soon after the accident, the driver managed to flee.

The victim has been identified as Deepak Vishwas, a resident of Noida. He works as a tailor. On Sunday night, he was going towards Anand Vihar in the auto when it overturned near EDM Mall in Anand Vihar. The auto driver who survived the accident managed to escape from the vehicle as passers-by started gathering at the spot.

Eye-witnesses rushed him to a nearby hospital where he underwent treatment for his severe head injuries. Later, the hospital staff referred him to another hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during early hours of Monday.

Meanwhile, a case of rash driving and causing death by negligence has been registered at Ghazipur police station. A <g data-gr-id="35">man-hunt</g> is on to nab the driver who has been identified on the basis of the registration number of the auto-rickshaw.

In another incident, an 18-year-old boy was killed by an unidentified vehicle in North Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area on Monday morning.

At around 7 am on Monday, police received a call that a boy was lying in a pool of blood near Mukundpur traffic signal. When a team reached the spot he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The victim has been identified as Ramu, a resident of Wazirabad. A case in this connection has been registered at Adarsh Nagar police station. Police said they are trying to identify the offending vehicle. However, so far no eyewitness has approached police.
