35-yr-old man stabbed to death during robbery attempt

A 35-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by four unidentified assailants during a robbery attempt at Sadar Bazar of north Delhi, police said.

According to police, in the incident which took place on Monday night, one Dilip Kumar was stabbed to death while trying to fight off the group of robbers.

Kumar was on duty at a manufacturing unit owned by one Naresh Dhingra in Sadar Bazar when the attack took place.

‘Four unidentified persons tried to snatch a bag from Dhingra, who was outside the manufacturing unit, and started to thrash him as he resisted their bid.

‘Seeing Dhingra under attack, Kumar and some other employees rushed to his aid,’ police said, adding that, during the fight, one of the assailants stabbed Kumar before they fled the spot.

‘Kumar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead,’ police said.

Police said they are scanning footage from CCTV cameras in the vicinity to identify the accused.

‘A case has been registered and a manhunt launched to arrest the four accused,’ police added.
