35-year-old bizman shot dead by four unidentified men

A 35-year-old man, who is into construction business, was shot dead by four unidentified men few metres away from his house at Punjabi Phatak lane of Ballimaran area of North Delhi on Thursday night. According to the police, the deceased, Faheem Ahmed went out to chit chat with his friends in the locality when the culprits came and opened fire at him. Senior police officials have denied personal enmity saying the accused are ‘outsiders’.

According to the police, the incident took place at 11.15 pm when Faheem Ahmed was sitting with some locals when four men came and fired bullets at him.

Shakeel Ahmed, Faheem’s brother said: “Faheem had gone out of home for taking a stroll after dinner. I was sitting in my room when I heard gunshots. I rushed out to see that my brother was lying in a pool of blood. Locals who were present there told us that two men held him from the back while the third man thrashed him. At the same time, the fourth man took out a pistol and fired. The bullets hit his foot. It happened so fast that by the time we could react, the culprits fled from the spot. By the time we rushed him to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital and he died during the course of treatment.”

“He was friends with a man named Naseer. They worked together and had 8 to 10 plots in the Ballimaran area. Two years ago, Faheem fell into bad company and suffered some losses after which he left those people,” said a senior police official. Survived by his parents, wife and two children, Faheem was the eldest of the sons of the Ahmed family.

“Three rounds were fired out of which two hit Faheem’s foot. Preliminary medical examination by the doctors revealed that he died due to a heart attack or asphyxiation,” said the official.

“We have registered a case under sections of murder at the Lahori Gate police station. Probe is on,” said Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).
