32-year-old shot dead at Ghazipur

A 32-year-old, village head of Ghazipur was allegedly shot dead by unidentified motorcycle borne assailants in east Delhi’s Ghazipur area on Tuesday.

Vinod Radha, the victim, was a property dealer and from one year he was the head of a village — Gharoli Dairy farm. On Monday at around 11 pm, when Radha was returning from Ghaziabad to his home in Ghazipur in his car, he was overtook by armed motorcycle borne assailants. Stopping him near MCD toll tax booth, he was shot at and the accused managed to flee. He was declared dead when rushed to the near by hospital.

The deceased’s relatives with local residents of Gharoli Dairy Farm protested on the Delhi-UP border blocked traffic on NH-24 that lead to two hours traffic snarls. Two persons have been detained whose identity has not been disclosed by the police believing that it might hamper their investigation. A case of murder has been registered against the accused.
