30-yr-old woman, two-year-old son crushed under moving train

A 30-year-old woman and her two-year-old son died after they came under a moving train in North-east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Sama and her son Aman. The incident was reported around 2 am and some people had seen the woman and her three children trying to cross the railway tracks. Sama’s daughter Alisha (7) and son Anas (5) survived, said a police official, adding that the police have yet not ruled out that this could be a case of suicide.

Sama lived with her husband, Abdul Hassan, and three children at Shastri Park area. They were natives of Badaun in UP. Relatives told the police that Hasan is a roadside vendor and did not have a decent income, for which the couple often entered into heated arguments, said the official.

On Thursday, Hasan returned home around 11 pm and had an argument with Sama, after which she left home with her three children. After around three hours, Hasan got to know through locals that his wife and youngest son was found dead near the railway <g data-gr-id="30">tracks,</g> while the other two children were alive, said the official.

Sama and her child were rushed to GTB Hospital, where she and Aman were declared brought dead 
and the other two children were admitted with serious injuries, the official added.

On Thursday, a woman and her eight-year-old daughter died when they came under the wheels of a moving train while trying to board it near Delhi Cantonment railway station.

The woman’s younger daughter who is five-years-old also came under the train but survived. However, her severely damaged arm had to be amputated, a police official said.
