3 U’khand CMs to drum up support for BJP

With people from Uttarakhand constituting a substantial percentage of Delhi voters, three former chief ministers and other BJP leaders from the state have been summoned by the central leadership to campaign for party nominees for next month’s polls in the national capital.

People with their roots in Uttarakhand constitute some 20 per cent of the Delhi’s electorate and campaigning by party leaders from the hill state can brighten chances of the BJP nominees, senior state party leader Urbadutt Bhatt said here.

Among those summoned by the party’s central leadership to drum up support for BJP candidates in Delhi were three former CMs — Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank — and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Bhatt, he said.
