3 die in accident on Yamuna E-way

Three persons died while four others, including a doctor were critically injured, in two separate road accidents on Yamuna Express in the last 24 hours. Police said that the first accident took place in Mathura region where a couple lost their lives while two children, aged below seven years, were injured.

The second accident took place in Greater Noida when an ambulance carrying a doctor and medical equipment collided with a car. The driver of the car died in the incident while the doctor and the driver of ambulance suffered severe injuries.

In the first incident the husband and wife died on the spot while their children are battling for life after their i10 car collided with a heavy vehicle on Saturday night. Sikandrabad-based businessman Shekhar Goyal (35) along with his wife Neena Goyal (30) and two children Vanshari (7) and Arthav (3) had gone to Agra. The accident took place while the family was returning from Agra after seeing Vanshari’s doctor.

Yamuna Expressway operator claims that the accident took place on Agra to Greater Noida side at 125 kilometre away from zero point. Police is yet to confirm how the accident took place but they are suspecting that the car hit an unidentified vehicle moving ahead as the car’s front side was found damaged. Doctors declared Shekhar and Neena dead while Arthav is still critical. Doctors said that Vandhari has fractured his hand. Police have sent the body for postmortem and have informed Shekhar’s family members.
