Despite stringent arrangements to prevent any foul play during the ongoing Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations for class X and class XII, three class XII students were caught cheating during the examinations. The students were from different examination centres in the city.
MC Sharma, CBSE exam controller said that a Flying Squad set up to ensure fair examination ‘caught three students cheating during CBSE board’s 12th standard examination. While one was caught cheating during the Board’s English examination, the other two were caught during the history paper.’
Another official, who didn’t wish to be named, also informed that, 'A case of copying against these three students has been registered by the squad team, and all three cases have been referred to the concerned Board committee. The students will be allowed to put forth their point of view in front of the committee. If found guilty of the charge, appropriate action will be taken against them.'
The Board’s English examination for class XII was held on 1 March and the History exam was held on 4 March. For the smooth conduction of the board exams CBSE has arranged a three tier arrangement for surprise checking - the first is the CBSE Flying Squad, the second is the Flying Squads from Directorate of Education of Delhi and third, is the outside special observer.
