Police have arrested three persons in connection with hatching a conspiracy to eliminate Irfan, alias Chenu Pehelwan, at the Karkardooma Court complex where four juveniles started shooting inside the court premise leading to the death of one police constable while an under-trial suffered bullet injuries.
According to the police, the four juveniles who executed the attack in the court complex were trained by other men hired by these three persons who were the masterminds behind the shooting incident. The three accused have been identified as Shahrukh, Shiv Shakti Naidu and Abdul Nasir.
Police earlier, have recovered a revolver, a pistol, one Honda City car and the mobile phone of Shahrukh’s juvenile brother. On the morning of December 23, at around 11.40 am, four juveniles opened fire at Irfan who was produced for a hearing in court number 73 in which they fired at least 10 rounds and tried to flee but were apprehended. The constable, Ram Kanwar Meena succumbed to his injuries while Irfan was hospitalised.
“During interrogation, the four juveniles revealed that one of the juvenile was Shahrukh’s brother. It was later known that Shahrukh was lodged in Tihar Jail. Here after befriending Abdul Nasir, Shahrukh and Naidu brainwashed the juvenile, who used to visit Shahrukh, to eliminate Chenu. In light of the long-standing rivalry between Irfan and Nasir, the latter rope in Mohd Ajim, Asim and Ranjha to train these four juveniles,” said Bhairon Singh Gurjar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).
“Ranjha arranged money and weapons for the juveniles. He paid Rs 25 lakh each to the juvenile and the remaining to Shahrukh’s brother. The conduit, Asim, who trained them in Jaipur took them in a Honda City car to Jaipur and later dropped them at the main gate of the Karkardooma Court on the day of the incident. Meanwhile, Mohd Ajim had done a recce of the court a week before the incident. He also trained the juveniles in using the weapons,” the official said.
