3 arrested for tying up 86-yr-old man and committing dacoity

Delhi Police have arrested three persons including a servant and an inter-state criminal who were involved in a dacoity case where 86-year-old man and the security guard were tied and robbed of the cash, jewellery and costly watches.
The accused persons have been identified as Dinesh Bahadur, Kamal Singh, Hikmat Khadka. The robbed articles worth around Rs 30 to 35 lakhs including costly watches have been recovered from their possession.
According to police, the incident took place on January 26 when three accused barged into the house of Prakash Chand Jain (86) at around 3 am and tied his hands, legs and mouth and assaulted him. They put him in the washroom and committed theft of valuable items in the house including his costly watch, golden chain and an Apple I-6 mobile phone.
It was also found that the assailants had also tied the hands, legs and mouth of the security guard — Ashok Kumar. At the time of the incident, Jain’s son Sukaran Jain (65), had gone to Bangkok along with his wife and his son.
During investigation, a team was immediately sent at Anand Vihar Bus terminal from where the buses are available for going to Nepal Border. A surveillance was kept at the bus stand and the details of all the buses, departed on the morning of January 26, were obtained and the mobile numbers of drivers, conductors of those buses were also obtained.
“Extensive search was made for the whereabouts of the accused servant Dinesh and Chowkidar Dharma. During investigation it has been revealed that accused Dharma has been living at Wazirpur Village in Ashok Vihar area in Delhi where the police team conducted raid but by that time he had already left,” Vijay Singh, DCP (North-West) said.
“Acting on a specific information, the police team conducted raid in Uttam Nagar on Friday and apprehended all the three persons,” he added.
