2G case: Court to hear argument on framing charges on 18 Sept

DMK MP Kanimozhi and 17 others, including nine firms, were chargesheeted by the Enforcement Directorate.
Special CBI Judge O P Saini, who was scheduled to hear the arguments on Wednesday, posted the matter for 18 September after the newly-appointed Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Anand Grover sought some time to go through the documents before advancing the arguments.
‘Put up the matter for arguments on charge as well as arguments on miscellaneous application filed by Nihar Constructions (P) Limited/Mystical Constructions (P) Limited (accused in the case) on 18 September, 2014, as prayed, as before that cases titled as CBI vs Ravi Kant Ruia and others and CBI vs Dayanidhi Maran are listed for defence evidence and consideration respectively,’ the judge said.
The court had on August 20 granted bail to Raja, Kanimozhi and eight others in the case saying that considering their conduct, there was ‘no likelihood’ that they will commit such an offence again.
