28-yr-old bizman murdered: Cops

A 28-year-old businessman was killed by an unidentified person in West Delhi’s <g data-gr-id="27">Ranhola</g> area on Sunday. The prima facie suggests it as a case of robbery followed by murder. Though police officials privy to <g data-gr-id="26">investigation</g> did not <g data-gr-id="25">ruled</g> out personal enmity angle.

The victim has been identified as Shameen Kaifi– a resident of <g data-gr-id="28">Ranhola</g> area. He had a business of timber in the area. According to the police, a call to the police control room was made by a passerby at about 6 am informing that a man is lying under a tree at a roadside in <g data-gr-id="29">Ranhola</g> area. A team rushed to the spot and found strangulation marks on his throat. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Apart from strangulation marks, blood stains were also spotted under his nose. After identification of the body, it has been sent for the post-mortem examination and the reports are still awaited.

“His mobile phone was found missing. However, the wallet was lying near his body but the cash was missing,” the official said. He further added that it seems that some robbers have attacked him but when he tried to resist the attempt he was killed. Also, at the time of the incident, he was under the influence of alcohol. 

The police officials, quoting his father’s statement, said, “Kaifi was addicted to alcohol. On <g data-gr-id="33">daily</g> <g data-gr-id="34">basis</g> he used to consume alcohol before returning home.” <g data-gr-id="30">Kaifi</g> got married five years ago but from past three years his wife who is a resident of Kotla Mukbarkpur is not staying with him. A case under the Section 498 (cruelty) of the Indian penal Code is already registered against him at Crime Against Women cell.
