27 Army aspirants detained in Ggn

Around 27 men were detained for creating ruckus in early hours on Thursday morning after hundreds of candidates reached Tau Devi Lal Stadium for Army recruitment. Those detained are between 18 and 21 years of age, police said.

“A large number of young aspirants for Army recruitment gathered outside the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in the wee hours on Thursday. Due to the unexpected huge gathering of the applicants, the Army authorities curtailed entry into the venue. This created resentment amongst the aspirants and they started creating ruckus and disrupted peace which affected the general public and traffic on the Gurgaon-Sohna road,” said a senior police official.

As a result, additional police help was sought by the army officers. When police force reached the spot, some unidentified miscreants started to pelt stones at the police vehicles and policemen. “They broke window panes of SHO mobile Sec 40 and turned the vehicle upside down. A few policemen also sustained injuries in the process,” confirmed a senior police official.

After that cops from Sadar, Sector 40 police stations and Khandsa police posts rushed to the venue and detained the miscreants brought the situation under control. The accused have been booked under Section 107 of the CrPC. “27 persons were caught as preventive measure by the police and an FIR has been registered regarding the incident in Sadar police station, against unknown miscreants,” said a senior official.

ACP Sadar, ACP HQ, ACP DLF and ACP Udyog Vihar along with other police personnel brought the situation under control and restored normalcy within half an hour, confirmed the police.
