26-yr-old gangraped, 4 held

A 26-year-old woman was kidnapped from South Delhi’s Defence Colony area and allegedly gang-raped by six persons at a house in Dakshinpuri area during the wee hours of Sunday. Four of the accused have been arrested by Delhi Police whereas two are still absconding.

According to police, the victim is a resident of Uttam Nagar who works with an event organising company on contract basis. The incident was reported to the police at 12.30 am by Victim’s auto driver who was known to her. The driver dropped her at Moolchand red light at 10.30 pm on Saturday. She asked the driver to stay around so that she could return home in the same auto-rickshaw.

“When she returned to Moolchand red light, she made a call to the driver who was barely few meters away from her. In the meantime, a white Santro car came with five persons aboard. They forcibly pushed her inside and fled away. The driver noted down the car’s registration number and made a call to the police control room,” a police official privy to <g data-gr-id="34">investigation</g> said.

The officials sitting in the PCR van that reached the Moolchand flyover took the driver with them and started the hunt for the car. 

After <g data-gr-id="33">couple</g> of hours, the woman was tracked and was found in a bad condition in Dakshinpuri area near Pushpa Bhawan. She narrated the incident to the police and informed them that she could locate the house where she was gang-raped.

A police team accompanied her to a house and found the same Santro car parked outside the building. Out of the six accused, four of them were arrested from the house whereas <g data-gr-id="38">search</g> for the remaining two was still on.

The accused have been identified as Akash (23), Deepak (20) and Aman (26). They have been 
booked under the Sections of gang-rape and kidnapping. Whereas the fourth accused identified as Rohit is also arrested. 

A senior police official confirmed that the medical examination of the victim had confirmed assault. Further investigation is underway, he added.
