26-yr-old allegedly gang-raped by four at Nizamuddin station

A 26-year old woman has alleged that she was raped by four men after being sedated near the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in south-east Delhi on late Tuesday night.

Police has registered a case against the four accused. ‘The victim said that she knew two of the accused, and the other two had met her for the first time,’ said Sanjay Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways).

He further said, the victim first reported to the police that she had been allegedly raped by one of the accused, named Jatin (27). ‘Then she said, she might have been raped by the other three men as well, which turns out to be a big confusion. So the case has to be thoroughly investigated from various angles,’ said DCP Bhatia.

The woman has alleged that she knew two of the accused who  accompanied her to the Nizamuddin railway station on Tuesday night. Later, they were joined by two other men.

They offered her soft drink which was allegedly drugged. After she fell unconscious, the men took turns to rape her, said a police official.

When the victim regained her senses late at night, she found herself lying near the pre-paid auto booth outside the railway station. She then called up the police and reported the turn of events.

‘The victim was immediately sent for medical examinations.  All the four accused have been identified with the help of CCTV footage,’ said the official. But, they are yet to be arrested.
