26-year-old woman strangled to death

Under suspicious circumstances, a 26-year-old woman was found strangled to death at her house in the city, the police officials stated on Thursday, and indicated that her husband was a prime suspect since his statements in the matter were inconsistent. According to the officials, the woman, a resident of Swaroop Nagar in west Delhi, was reportedly found dead around 10.30 pm by her husband Sunil. 'The woman, identified as Rakhi, has two children, a seven-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son. The husband reported to have found his wife dead in bed in the morning,' said a police official. She was immediately taken to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. However, the police officials are suspecting foul play. An initial medical examination showed that the woman had died at least seven hours before the police were informed, the officer said, adding that a post-mortem examination was being conducted. 'We are questioning her husband,' the police officer said.
