26-year-old woman jumps on Metro track, escapes unhurt

A 26 -year old woman jumped on the Metro track on Saturday but escaped unhurt as the driver of the approaching train stopped it, well before reaching her, said a CISF’s staff.
However, the woman claimed that she had accidentally fallen. Kirti, a resident of Madipur in West Delhi, did not suffer any injuries after falling on the track at Madipur Metro station. The incident occurred around 11.40 pm, with the alert train driver immediately applying brakes to avoid hitting her.
Kirti, who had fainted, was taken to the nearby Achary Bikshu hospital, from where she was discharged after preliminary examination.
In her statement to the police, she said she did not remember how she fell off. But police claimed that she had deliberately jumped, adding that she was depressed for being childless even after six years of marriage.
