On Monday morning, the police got a call at around 5 am informing about the murder in Trilokpuri area. A team immediately rushed to the spot and found a body lying near a drain with a huge stone placed on his face.
With the help of a tatto on his arm, the deceased was later identified as Bunty. His family was contacted to inform about his death. Eyewitnesses told the police that at around 4.50 am, they saw two men attacking Bunty. He was heard pleading for his life and mentioning repeatedly that he would return the money that he had borrowed from his attackers.
Few minutes later, before the locals could gather and come to his rescue, the duo managed to flee the spot. A woman called the police immediately.
When the team reached the spot the body was found in a horrible condition as his face was crushed beyond recognition.
The body was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for post-mortem and forensic team inspected the spot. Bunty’s mother identified the body when photographs were shown to her at Mayur Vihar police station.
Bunty was the only son in his family, and is survived by his wife and two children. He was currently unemployed. She told police that she is not aware about any personal enmity between the attackers and her son for which he was killed. ‘Investigation is on and details of Bunty’s mobile phone are being looked into. We are investigating the case from all plausible angles,’ the officer said.
