24-yr-old youth bludgeoned to death by friends

A 24-year-old youth was bludgeoned to death allegedly by three of friends during a drunken brawl that ensued between them in north Delhi’s Bharat Nagar area.

Police have arrested all three of his friends who later confessed to have committed the offence. The victim and the accused lived in the same locality. The incident took place yesterday afternoon and it came to notice of the police when a passerby made a call about a blood-soaked body lying near railway tracks near Saavan Park in the area.

“When a police team rushed to the spot, it found a youth lying in a semi-nude condition while blood-soaked bricks, stones, clothes and some liquor bottles were scattered all around him. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said a police official. The victim could not be instantly identified as his face was badly disfigured and no identity card was recovered from him.

Police questioned some residents of the area one of whom told them that he had seen some youths heading to the railway tracks with liquor. Police was soon able to track down his family who identified him as Bhalla.
