24-yr-old quizzed over theft found hanging at Ggn police station

Vijay Kumar, a resident of Wazirabad, was brought to the Sushant Lok police station by head constable Jagbir in the morning on charges of theft. One Zakir had filed a complaint, alleging theft, against Kumar.

Jagbir, who brought the accused, had to leave for duty, leaving Kumar in his room at the police station, police said.

Around 9.15 am, a head constable saw Kumar hanging from the ceiling fan. The door had to be broke open to bring his body down. “We have initiated a magisterial enquiry into the matter. Kumar’s autopsy will be conducted after the arrival of his relatives, whom we have already informed,” said Deepak Saharan, DCP, East Gurgaon.

He added: “Appropriate departmental action is being taken against delinquent head constable Jagbir.”
