A 24-year-old youth was allegedly shot by his friends after they had an argument in an intoxicated state at Kheda village in Samaipur Badli area in northwest Delhi. The incident happened during the wee hours of Monday.
As narrated by a police official, four friends – Mahipal, Sumit, Narendra and Satish were drinking together late Sunday night. Suddenly, Mahipal got into an argument with Narendra and Satish over some cash he owed to either of the two.
After a violent confrontation, Mahipal was heading towards home at Kheda village, accompanied by his friend Sumit in a car. All of a sudden, Narendra and Satish rushed from behind in their own car, stopped Mahipal’s vehicle and shot him, said the police official. All four of them are aged between 23 and 25 years.
‘We received a PCR call at 3am and it was taken to be an accident case. But when we reached the spot, we came across an entirely different set of facts,’ said Vikramjit Singh, deputy commissioner of police (outer). The accused – Narendra and Satish – are still absconding. It will not be very difficult to find them because the victim and his family have known them for a long time,’ said Singh. He further said that both the accused have been booked under section 307 of IPC (attempt to murder).
Mahipal was hit by four bullets and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he was reported to be safe by the afternoon.
