24-year DU student from Myanmar stabbed to death by three drug addicts

The victim has been identified as <g data-gr-id="36">Chuach</g> Cue who was a student of the Open School of Learning. He was residing in a rented accommodation in Dabri. At the time of the incident, Cue was returning home from a local market in Dabri’s Chanakya Market when he was confronted by three armed men. All of them were armed with knives.

One of the accused asked Cue to <g data-gr-id="42">handover</g> all his belongings including cash and mobile phone to them but Cue refused. Instead of handing over the stuff to them, Cue slapped one of them and the confrontation took an ugly turn. In the meantime, one of the accused stabbed him in his chest and snatched his mobile phone while the other accused took out the wallet from his pocket and they all managed to escape.

At the time of the incident, Cue was accompanied with his friend identified as Christopher. But when the accused attacked him Christopher was busy in buying some household things. Hearing the <g data-gr-id="58">commotion</g> he rushed to the spot and found Cue lying by the roadside in a pool of blood. With the help of the locals, Cue was rushed to the nearby Mata Chanan Devi hospital. Cue was was declared brought dead.

According to police, the hospital staff informed the police about the case.  A case under the relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered against unknown persons at Dabri police station. Since then a manhunt was on to nab the accused.

“A team was made and local miscreants were intensively quizzed but to no avail. On Saturday, a policeman patrolling in the area came across one Rahul who was a smack addict. He was quizzed and his inconsistent answers brought him under the scanner. He was detained and was intensively quizzed in the police station where he broke down and confessed to his crime,” a police official said.

The official further added that the identities of the remaining two accused including the juvenile have been established and a <g data-gr-id="47">man-hunt</g> is on. During <g data-gr-id="39"><g data-gr-id="40">investigation</g></g> it was learnt that all three of them robbed Cue to buy smack but when he resisted he was stabbed to death, the official said.
