23-yr-old women helpline staff commits suicide

A 23-year-old woman employee of Delhi government’s women helpline number committed suicide on duty due to alleged harassment meted out by her chief Khadija <g data-gr-id="22">Faruquee</g>. In her complaint to the police, she has alleged harassment by <g data-gr-id="23">Faruquee</g>. “Her chief used to harass her and she could not tolerate it. <g data-gr-id="24">Faruquee</g> is very authoritative and abusive in nature. She used to harass all the girls working in the helpline,” said a relative of the victim. He further added that <g data-gr-id="25">Faruquee</g> was harassing the victim and one more woman working in the helpline. “She had already forced some other women to quit their jobs,” added the relative. According to kin, the victim had complained to the Women and Child Development of Delhi government but no action was taken.
