23-year-old married woman raped by friend in Gurgaon

A 23-year-old Delhi-based married woman was allegedly raped by her friend, in front of another male, in a car in Gurgaon. One of the accused has been arrested whereas, the other is still absconding.
According to police, the incident took place on Monday evening when the victim, a resident of the Mahipalpur area in south Delhi went shopping with her friend. In the late evening, the duo went to Sahara mall on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) road. After shopping, at approximately 8.30 pm, they left the mall and went for a ride in Gurgaon.
The victim's friend, whose identity was not revealed by Gurgaon police, is a resident of Delhi and a property dealer in south Delhi. He allegedly took the woman to Sohna road on pretext of giving money or a credit card to his sister. But he parked the car in an isolated spot on Palwal road. The victim has told the police that in the mean time, another male who was known to her friend, entered the car. The victim’s 28-year-old friend raped her inside the car in front of his friend.
Later in the night, the duo dumped her in Gurgaon. On Tuesday morning, the girl approached the police and filed a complaint against the duo. A medical examination was conducted which confirmed rape.
A case under the section-376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the two accused. On the basis of the victim's description, a man-hunt was launched to nab the victim’s friend. 'He was arrested from his residence in Delhi. During the interrogation, the arrested accused revealed the identity of his friend. Raids are being conducted to nab the other accused,' the police official added.
