23-year-old found murdered in car in Greater Noida

A 23-year-old boy was found dead in his own car near IIMT College in Knowledge Park, Greater Noida on Thursday night. The boy was shot by unknown assailant and the car was found parked in a lonely area near IIMT College, said police officials.

The victim is identified as Amit Bhati, who was a resident of Rampur, Dadri. Amit was the only son with two younger sisters. He completed his MBA degree from IIMT College, Greater Noida two years back.

“At around 7.30 pm, we received a call from IIMT College’s security guard that a boy is lying dead in a car near IIMT College. We rushed to the spot and found that five bullets were fired into his body. Three bullets were fired into his stomach while other two were fired into his neck and head,” said Manish Sharma, SHO, Knowledge Park Police Station, Greater Noida.

“Amit left his home on Thursday afternoon in his Toyota Corolla Altis car and after around half-an-hour, his mobile phone went switched off. The last location of his mobile phone traced was near Ecotech 3rd near Dadri,” Sharma added.

“Looking at the body, it seems that the boy died four to five hours before the body was recovered. Might be the car was brought to Knowledge Park after committing the murder and was left at a lonely place, placing the body on the driver seat. The body has been sent for post-mortem. An FIR for murder was registered against unidentified persons following the incident. A team has been constituted to probe the matter. We are also trying to investigate the call details of the deceased,” said Sharma.

Police are suspecting the reason behind the murder to be rivalry with some people as the deceased boy belonged to a rich family and was the only son. Amit got married just two years before and had a baby too.
