21-yr-old MBA student kills self in Ggn, husband arrested

In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence in Ashoke Vihar Phase II, Gurgaon. 

The initial investigation revealed that the woman was married last year in June and was currently pursuing an MBA degree course. 

The deceased’s parents revealed that their daughter was married to Sachin around 10 months back and according to them they had spent enough money at the wedding to make it a successful event. 

They also said that Kirti, the deceased, had started complaining about her in-law’s behaviour sometime back. Even though her parents had given all possible items like car, fridge among other things as gifts in the wedding, still the in-laws started taunting their daughter-in-law for bringing in less dowry. On finding their daughter hanging from the ceiling fan and knowing what she was suffering from due to her in-laws, Kirti’s parents had filed a case of dowry death against her husband and in-laws in Sector 5 police station. 

The husband, identified as Sachin, has been arrested under Sections 498A, 304B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The police have also taken the in-laws into the police custody for further investigation. 

The body has been sent for post-mortem and the report will come by Saturday.
