2020: Rlys to reduce energy consumption by 15%

In accordance with the provisions of ‘Vision-2020’ and ‘28 point energy action plan’, Indian Railways has announced that it looks to reduce energy consumption by 15% in the year 2020, and is looking to maximise the use of non-conventional sources of energy.
The ‘Electrical Safety Week’ at Northern Railway Head Quarters, Baroda House, celebrated from 1 May, 2013 to 7 May, 2013, involved the dissemination of information, with regards to the safe use of electricity by the staff, while at work as well as families residing in Railway colonies. Safety seminars were also conducted at all the divisions and workshops over Northern Railway.
